Like other grass root sport clubs, the Cronulla Sharks Baseball Club is run 100% by volunteers. These volunteers are giving their time to support the local sports community. Without them, the club would not be able to operate. Our volunteers are covering different aspects of operating the club.
We have volunteers, which cover positions within the committee. Other volunteers take on the role as coaches, managers, umpires and or scorers. And let’s not forget all those parents and friends, which are helping to setup the fields on game day as well as supporting the operation of the canteen and BBQ. Together everyone is contributing to the experience at the club and together we are looking at improving everyone’s experience from year to year.
With many people coming together in different aspects of the sports club, it is important that the club has got polices in place, which protect the members of the club and the experience the club provides. The Cronulla Sharks Baseball Club has spent significant effort to develop a set of policy documents with the aim to protect the members and those volunteers. These policy documents can be found on this page.
Besides the policy documents, the club has a Member Protection Officer, which can engaged in case any member has any concerns regarding their experience at the club. In addition to the Member Protection Officer, the club introduced a Junior Baseball Tribunal in 2020 with the aim to mediate any significant challenges with the experience at the club. Members of the tribunal do not have any direct exposure to junior baseball.
